Making of Team India– A Journey To Win

This shows the Team ability – where we won the match without any contribution from the duo.

Cricket World Cup 2011 final match shows the brilliance of team performance under the leader Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Every individual has performed well, and it shows the collective effort and given us the pride to think beyond.

There was a bad phase in Indian cricket where we were not able to find a visionary captain to show us the pride and respect for our team, individual and the nation. Individual performance and vested interests were dominating at that point of time. We as Indians lost our interest in Cricket or Sports and started disrespecting our players.

At that point of time, we gave our ship which was drifting in a sea without radar to “our own Saurav Gaguly “. He showed the bacon of light to Indian cricket team and successfully gained the respect in people’s heart. He started taking new initiatives and the team started performing well. He established the team performance as a winning theory. Every pride has a downfall and this was the time when Saurav made too many enemies while laying down the foundation of “Team India”. He passed through a  bad phase of his career where he had to balance his professional, personal and at the same time his own team responsibility. He was bequeathed from the captaincy and subsequently dropped from the team.

Again there was an attack of people having vested interest in growing “Team India”. But our former captain Saurav Ganguly laid the strong foundation where we could build a superstructure on it. This time Indians were watching with eyes opened on every situation and were not allowing to give “growing team India” in wrong hands. Some time a leader has to face anger of the people for his small mistakes taken as initiatives, sometimes this is carried forward to the future as well. This is the side effect of becoming a leader. Cricket fans will never forget Ganguly who took the phases of Indian cricket from bad to better.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni  “Mahi” showed the leadership quality while performing well, he became a Captain  and torch bearer of Indian cricket after Ganguly. He took new initiatives in team building and that was very much criticizable if India was not on the winning side. Sometimes this happened when Mahi faced the anger of common people. As a true leader he never stopped from taking his own decision and new initiatives. He formed the strongest team ever in the history of Indian Cricket with the combination of new and experienced players. He carried forward the Ganguly’s vision and his own strategy and led Team India to the spectacular and dazzling victory in “Cricket World Cup 2011 – CWC11”.

Young India is changing every bit and growing fast, and this is the time where Leader should come forward without having vested interest and show us the right path that leads to character. There will be a time, when negative forces will turn aside from the right path. We are not going to stop whether the right path is too dam hard, will keep on continuing our journey, helping each other and motivate to compete, struggle and fight to perform well in every phase of life.

Congratulations India on winning Cricket World Cup 2011.
